THE INTERMODAL SYSTEM AND PLAZA - PERUS
This project was developed in a semester in which the discipline would be taught in pairs or trios and the focus theme was to propose a better urban infrastructure for the Sub-prefecture of Perus.
The Intermodal System and Plaza project aimed to integrate a bus terminal with the train station, Perus, on the Coral line in the city of São Paulo, since the Sub-prefecture is characterized as a dormitory area, which suffers from the phenomenon of commuting in society, that is, the residents of this sub-prefecture spend a large part of the day outside, or in nearby cities or sub-prefectures such as Lapa.
Furthermore, since it was defined as an integration with the train station, it would be necessary to connect to the higher side of the neighborhood, the other side of the station, which has a height difference of 4 m. Therefore, despite the flooding issues, an underground connection to the train tracks was made through stairs and elevators so that the two parts of the Sub-prefecture could be connected, with rainwater collectors.
The site was chosen due to the underutilization of the land below the connecting viaducts in the region and the proximity to the station. However, the challenge of the implementation geometry was the high possibility of flooding, since there is a tributary of the Tietê River along the route. For this reason, a linear park along this tributary and a concentration of native forest around the Terminal were proposed.
This terminal would house some businesses and the administrative sector of the intermodal system. In addition, the train station itself was renovated, especially at the access points.
