CULTURAL CENTER - LAPA

This project was developed in a semester in which the main theme was to propose a better urban project for a part of the Lapa Sub-prefecture. And to this end, in the project discipline, buildings of the institutional category were considered.

 

The chosen institutional project was a cultural center based on the new block division that the urban planning group developed during the semester.

The lot was chosen based on the location of the future Santa Marina subway station, orange line 6, which connects the north zone to the west zone and south-central zone of the city of São Paulo (Brasilândia to São Joaquim).

 

The project requirements plan consisted of:

• hall and reception;

• cinema and auditorium;

• exhibition rooms;

• restaurant;

• bookstore;

• workshop rooms;

• fablabs;

• basement with parking spaces, technical area, and storage areas.

 

In addition to meeting the needs plan, it was necessary to develop landscaping for the project. Unlike the rectilinear structure of the complex's buildings, this had a more organic language, with different types of flooring.
